PocketEDDIE
This is pocketEDDIE, a board we’re developing for students, educators and anyone who wants an affordable way to start experimenting with EDDIE and K4.
The idea is simple: a small card that lets you connect sensors, control hardware and explore your own projects, with room to connect to our wider Probe ecosystem.
PocketEDDIE offers:
• USB power or an external 7–21 V DC supply
• USB-C interface
• Arduino-like I/O at 3.3 V
• Selectable 3.3 V/5 V interfaces for I²C, SPI and two GPIO channels
• A Qwiic-style I²C connection
• An EDDIE-style CAN-FD interface, compatible with our Probe ecosystem
• Development through KAT on Windows, macOS and Linux

Its little network companion is: The EDDIE pocketPROBE.
This is the board design taking shape: a Cortex-M0+ processor with Arduino Nano-style I/O headers and a K4/NET interface, designed to add distributed processing to pocketEDDIE systems.
The idea is simple: breadboard your own probe device, connect it to our K4/NET CAN network, and put the processing close to whatever you’re measuring or controlling.
pocketPROBE brings digital and analog I/O—including a DAC output—along with UART, I²C and SPI for connecting sensors, displays and other devices.
It’s designed to take 7–12 V power through the CAN network cable and be programmed over the network from the KAT IDE, using a USB-connected pocketEDDIE as the gateway.
A small board for building your own experiments into a connected system.
