Beyond Bare Metal: The EDDIE Advantage
Most data acquisition (DAQ) boards leave you stranded at the hardware level, forcing you to write complex low-level code just to get things moving. EDDIE is different—we provide a true application layer out of the box.
- Built-In OS & Language: Skip the boilerplate. EDDIE comes equipped with its own native operating system and language environment so you can start building immediately.
- Live, On-Device Testing: Write, interact with, and test your programs directly on the hardware in real time—no tedious compile-and-flash loops slowing you down.
- Native Multitasking (No RTOS Required): Run multiple processes concurrently right out of the box, eliminating the need to architect complex Real-Time Operating Systems from scratch.
- Seamless Board-to-Board Telemetry: Built-in telemetry infrastructure allows multiple EDDIE boards to sync, talk, and work together effortlessly without custom networking scripts.
- Full Desktop IDE & Dashboard: Take control of your measurements with a companion desktop environment designed to visualise, manage, and analyze your data seamlessly.
At its core EDDIE is a complex system which is fully engineered, but is also designed from scratch for ease of use by non-experts. With foolproof plug and play functionality, fast time to data, re-invention ready and uniquely expandable. For all the technical details on on our hardware and software check out:

To show you just what we mean by fast to data and ease of use. These are the sort of instructions you'll be asked to follow when unboxing our system.
Quick Start Instructions:
1. Choose blocks from Eddie's range that fit your functional requirements for a custom measurement system from: Eddie Pack/Hub, Uniprobes, Pods, and Peas. Standard communications and software are included.
2. Connect blocks plug and play style with the cables provided. Then power up your system
3. Dashboard is able to be used on your laptop (which is plugged into Eddie's Pack/Hub) to view data in real time from your sensors.
4. Consider if you'd like to optimise your system in any way and implement your changes.
5. See how changing your system affects the data and repeat steps 4 to 5 until you're happy with the result.
